Hurricane Irene is fast approaching.  From all reports, we are looking at a 2-3 category hurricane.  We all need to take the necessary precautions to be safe during the hurricane.  Wind and rain can cause extensive damage. 

The following are five advantages that we dogs have over humans during a hurricane:

1. We love eating cold food out of a can
2. We don’t worry about our hair in the wind.
3. We don’t worry about the toilet flushing.  We just go out in the yard.
4. We don’t mind playing or swimming in flood water.
5. Lights out means what I do best…sleep.

Well this Crazy Beagle made it through the 4^th of July in one piece.  Thanks goodness we had plenty of rain around the time they were suppose to start the fireworks.  Two barks up for the rain!

Today we did have many fireworks in the neighborhood because of potential thunderstorms and showers.  I never thought I would say that this beagle was happy to see thunderstorms and rain come.  Again, two barks up for the rain.

Boy is it raining today. We sure needed it. However, it’s the thunder that gets me every time. I am a nervous wreck.

I started out in the laundry room. Then I sat under the big guy’s desk. Then I went back down to the laundry room after the big guy put on some classical music. It does help a lot.

 

Snow, snow go away, stay away another day!

We just got rid of most of the snow that fell last weekend and now the weather forecast calls for another snow storm (remember, .010” of snow in Virginia Beach is a snow storm) on Saturday and next Wednesday.

Along with the strong rains we are getting tonight, we are also getting 40 mph winds tonight. I hate rain, strong winds, and snow. That is when I go to my sanctuary…the laundry room. When I close the door, it is probably the warmest room in the house.

Maybe if I close my eyes and count to ten the storm will go away.
